Innovating for people, planet, and poultry in Spain
Our team in Spain is leading the way in practical, data-driven sustainability. By installing solar panels and battery systems, and transitioning hatchery heat pumps from gas to electric, we are significantly reducing energy use and emissions. These improvements not only lower our environmental footprint, but also help reduce long-term energy costs and reliance on volatile energy markets — supporting a stronger and more competitive operation.
Just as importantly, these local initiatives strengthen the people and communities behind the supply chain. More efficient, reliable energy systems support stable hatchery operations, safeguard jobs, and help ensure a dependable supply of healthy chicks for poultry producers across the region. Para superar esse desafio, a Organização das Nações Unidas definiu 17 Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS). Nossos cinco principais compromissos corporativos estão em linha com os cinco ODS priorizados pelo International Poultry Council (IPC), por se concentrarem em erradicar a fome, promover boa saúde e bem-estar, apoiar a inovação, promover a educação e proteger nosso planeta para as próximas gerações. Damos máxima prioridade aos três pilares de sustentabilidade (ambiental, econômico e social) e temos o compromisso de agir de forma proativa para proteger o futuro da Terra.
As aves são as espécies com a menor pegada de carbono dentre todos as proteínas animais utilizadas na produção de carne.
O índice de conversão alimentar (C.A.) é um importante fator de sustentabilidade. Nosso progresso contínuo em C.A. nos permitiu reduzir a pegada de carbono do setor global a uma taxa de 1% ano a ano.
