Aviagen North America Pledges Support for Auburn University’s Poultry Research and Education Center

Aviagen is committed to educating and encouraging our future poultry leaders and to promoting research and development that strengthen the sustainability of our industry.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Aviagen® cares about the sustainability of the global industry, and investing in the education of future poultry professionals is key to its long-term success. Putting a commitment to the industry and education into practice, Aviagen North America recently pledged financial support for the Auburn University Charles C. Miller Jr. Poultry Research and Education Center.

The amount will be contributed in equal yearly installments spread over five years, earmarked mainly for:

  • Financial assistance for the ongoing operation of the Miller Center as a premier poultry education center
  • Endowed Professorship to recognize and support the highly qualified professors who will educate the next generation of poultry specialists
  • Fellowship awarded annually to an incoming or existing Auburn University graduate student to help prepare them for a lifetime of success in their careers and their contribution to the industry

Both Aviagen and Auburn representatives agree that the work done at the Miller Poultry Research and Education Center is important to the future of our industry, as well as to our ability to help create a better future for the world.

About the Miller Center

The Miller Poultry Research and Education Center is located on a 30-acre site in North Auburn. Current facilities include a feed mill, processing plant, hatchery, poultry health building, 5 floor pen facilities, battery house, administration and classroom building and National Poultry Technology Center, as well as several support facilities.
