Aviagen North America Announces Winners of 2021 Scholarships

Scholarship has doubled in funds and recipients over past decades

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Global poultry breeding company Aviagen® has announced the winners of its annual high school scholarship program. Each year the company chooses one local graduating senior from the towns and cities in the US where Aviagen facilities are located. Winners are determined based on merit and need, and an Aviagen manager often presents the students with certificates during the school’s senior awards ceremony. The funds are deposited directly into  the student’s school account to cover tuition and books at the student’s college or university of choice.

Commitment to local youth

Aviagen is committed to giving back to local communities, and to educating the next generation of leaders. The company started this program more than two decades ago, awarding a $500 scholarship to students at seven locations. Since then the amount has doubled to $1,000, which is given to 14 graduating seniors across the US.

“We care about the citizens in areas where our facilities are located,” commented Marc de Beer, President of Aviagen North America. “We realize that an investment in our young people enriches our communities, as well as our future leaders of the poultry industry and beyond.”
