CAMPINAS, Brazil – Poultry breeding company Aviagen^® has announced that it participated as a Silver sponsor of Brazil’s 38th annual Apinco Foundation of Science and Technology (FACTA) conference. Sponsored by the World Poultry Science Association (WPSA), FACTA took place June 22-24 as an online event. On June 23, Aviagen’s Regional Supervisor of Technical Service Barbara Vargas engaged with the audience on best practices for achieving the highest-possible chicken meat quality. According to Vargas, excellent management practices with particular attention to biosecurity, bird health and welfare, feed efficiency, daily weight gain and livability all impact meat quality and safety. Optimal management of the birds’ environment, nutrition, and feed and water intake are vital to achieving the best results.
