CAMPINAS, Brazil – During Nov. 16-19, Aviagen® Colombia held meetings in Bogotá and Medellín to engage with customers on today’s topics that are important to their markets and communities. Participants practiced social distancing and other safety guidelines due to the ongoing global pandemic.
Mário Sérgio Assayag, Technical Support Manager for Aviagen Latin America, led discussions on the status of the current global chicken meat market and the outlook to 2050, as well as the need for a consistent focus on flock health and management improvement to reduce the need for antibiotics. Together Assayag and attendees explored various aspects important to promoting bird welfare, as well as Aviagen’s commitment to supporting the environmental, economic and social pillars of sustainability through balanced breeding.
“Our customers throughout Colombia understand the importance of management in improving bird health, welfare, safety and productivity,” explained Andrés Parra Díaz, Aviagen Colombia Sales and Technical Services Manager. “’Transparency, communication and engagement’ and ‘Importance of management and stockmanship’ are two of Aviagen’s top 5 corporate commitments, and we are dedicated to continually collaborating with our customers and sharing the latest developments and best practices to champion their success.”
