Mike Czarick will lead discussions about house conditions to greater bird welfare
CAMPINAS, Brazil – On April 28, poultry genetics company Aviagen® will welcome customers to the fourth session of its new webinar series. Mike Czarick – Poultry Extension Specialist and member of the Department of Poultry Science faculty at the University of Georgia in the United States – will lead Aviagen customers in a discussion on the key aspects of environmental control in the poultry house between days 0 and 14 of a flock. Together the group will explore the most recent methods for determining minimum ventilation rates and assessing house watertightness, while also exchanging ideas on best practices to achieve excellence in ventilation system management.
“Effectively managing conditions in the poultry house will need to continuous improvement in bird health, welfare and performance,” explained Czarick.
About Mike Czarick
Czarick is a respected consultant in the poultry industry. He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Georgia. His areas of expertise include environmental control and energy conservation in poultry houses; ventilation, heating, cooling, lighting, air intake and circulation fan systems; and electronic control of farm environmental and energy audits. He has published several articles and newsletters on these topics, and has been honored with the D. W. Brooks Award (1997), Georgia Egg Association – Golden Egg Award (1997) and University of Georgia Specialist Extension Award (1993).
