EDINBURGH, Scotland. – Aviagen^® has announced that the Ranger Savanna™ broiler breeder has just been approved by Italy’s Unaitalia slow-grow program. Ranger Savanna is part of the company’s robust slower-growing and coloured breed options.

With a mix of brown and white plumage, the feather-sexable Ranger Savanna is a naked neck, slower-growing breed that features silky skin, excellent meat quality and flavor. It offers growers and integrators a balance of outstanding welfare and performance, including strong feed efficiency and a healthy growth rate. An active, easy-to-manage bird, it yields excellent meat conformation and texture. Its environmental and temperature resilience makes it ideal for diverse and hot climates.

To be accepted under the Unaitalia scheme, chicken breeds are evaluated by an independent organization according to the highest welfare standards, which cover every aspect of an animal’s life, including health, diet, environment and care.
